Expressive Arts for adults is a group class in which feelings, experiences, and potential for growth are explored through the process of creating a variety of art projects using mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. The process provides both a verbal and non-verbal vehicle to increase insight, develop strengths, and integrate feelings. Group lessons focus on increasing social pragmatic skills, building interpersonal relationship skills, working as a team and using a variety of art mediums as a modality to express one’s self.

We have rolling admissions for this course; students can start at any time as long as the course has an opening. The course session runs one day a week for a total of 6 weeks.

  • Payment and Refund Policy

    Payment is expected prior to registration to save a space in the course, unless you have made other arrangements with the owner. Payment plans can be set up if need be. Most people pay online, leave checks in studio mailbox or mail them to Shoe Town Art Center,  200 Merrimack Street, 2nd Floor, Haverhill, MA 01832

     

    Since almost all of our classes run full, if you register for class that means that someone else has been turned away to save your place in class. For this reason we cannot offer refunds if you decide to drop-out of the course anytime during the session. We will make every effort to accommodate you if you need to switch classes due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts or other such emergencies or events. It is our goal to make you happy and teach you the joy of art.

     

    We don't prorate classes if you are going away on vacation or just going to miss a few, but we do have a very open make-up policy for our non-flex courses as long as we get a 24 hour notice. Please, feel free to make-up any class you might miss by attending another class being offered during the same session. We want you to work, have fun, and get the most out of your time at Shoe Town Art Center


     

    Absences

    We have a 24 hour cancellation policy, and therefore require a minimum of a 24 hour notice in order for classes to be made up, otherwise they are considered a no show and forfeited. ​

    Payment 

    All classes and sessions must be paid for in full in advance.

    Holidays and Vacations

    Our Kid and Teen courses do not run during Christmas, February or April vacation breaks in accordance with the Haverhill Public School Calendar. ​

    Snow Days

    WEEKDAYS; When Haverhill Public Schools have snow days all art classes are cancelled.

    ​WEEKENDS; If there is a snow storm and class is cancelled it will be posted on the website and or facebook page.

    ​ALL DAYS We will cancel classes during declared weather emergencies.

    Abandoned Artwork

    When artwork is left behind after completion for 30 days or more it is considered abandoned.
