Foundation in Art for Teens is a small group course designed after the "foundation year" art college students typically experience their freshman year. It is a group class in which potential for creative growth is explored through exposure of a variety of mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, bookmaking, fiber arts, art games, and much more. This process allows us to teach the students the many ways different mediums can be used as a vehicle to express one's self, while at the same time help our students cultivate a comfortable understanding of multi-media. This class provides both a verbal and non-verbal vehicle to increase insight, develop strengths, learn technical skills and integrate feelings. Group lessons focus on increasing social pragmatic skills, building interpersonal relationship skills, working as a team, developing knowledge and experience using different fine art mediums as a modality to express one’s self.
We have rolling admissions for this course; students can start at any time as long as the class has an opening.
Materials are included in the course fee.
You must register and pay to reserve a spot in the course.

Payment and Refund Policy
Payment is expected prior to registration to save a space in the course, unless you have made other arrangements with the owner. Most people pay online on our website, or mail checks to Shoe Town Art Center, 200 Merrimack Street, 2nd Floor, Haverhill, MA 01832.
Since almost all of our classes run full, if you register for class that means that someone else has been turned away to save your place in class. For this reason we cannot offer refunds if you decide to drop-out of the course anytime during the session. We will make every effort to accommodate you if you need to switch classes that are not full due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts or other such emergencies or events. It is our goal to make you happy and teach you the joy of art.
Absences
For the courses with rolling admissions (the children and teen courses) we do not prorate classes. If you are going away on vacation or just going to miss a few, but we do have a very open make-up policy for our courses as long as we get a 24 hour notice (this does not apply to the Adult courses as they are flex classes and not rolling admissions). We want you to work, have fun, and get the most out of your time at Shoe Town Art Center
